I. Responsibilities:
Lead multi-discipline global New Product Development Project team including members from Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Quality, Sales and Marketing.

Secondary responsibilities include leading engineering tasks for other major projects, providing technical product design support to Operations, Suppliers, and Sales, evaluating product design change requests, and checking and approving new and revised drawings. Develop global engineering resources.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1.Management – Plans, organizes and coordinates activities on assigned projects. Assures assigned projects are processed with appropriate team/functional participation. Leads cross-functional teams on complex projects with moderate supervision. Assures project files are established and maintained. Directs designers, technicians, engineers and other personnel as required.

2.Product Development – Designs and develops new products and/or redesigns existing products within established guidelines, objectives and schedules as assigned by management. Defines new product specifications and requirements from Marketing and customer supplied application information. Performs detailed analysis of assigned products including stress, flow, force and tolerancing using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and/or other engineering tools as required.

3.Product Support – Reviews and evaluates design-related production problems for assigned products, customer issues and other requests. Evaluates product improvements, cost reductions and implements changes as required. Reviews and maintains product files for appropriate records on assigned products. Recommends ways to improve processes and methods within the department and the division. Provides engineering and technical support to other departments, customers and suppliers.

4.New Technologies – Actively researches and reports on leading edge technologies or technologies new to the business. Initiates technology development upon management approval.

5.Scientific Problem Solving Tools – Uses scientific problem solving techniques and tools for the execution of normal work tasks.

II.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•BS Degree Engineering required, BSME desired, Masters preferred.
•5-10 years of design engineering experience
•Ability to travel globally to work with Asian, Latin American, and European engineering staffs
•Project Management skills, product commercialization
•Good written and verbal skills to facilitate effective communication of technical ideas to management teams
•High mechanical aptitude
•Interpersonal skills to allow one to work with a wide range of people on all levels
